MEDICALLY NEEDY

MEDICALLY NEEDY (MN):  is a federal and state funded Medicaid program for aged, blind, or disabled persons, pregnant women, children and refugees with income and/or resources above CN limits. It provides slightly less medical coverage than CN, but greater financial participation by the client.

MN clients with income above MN limits are required to spend down excess income before medical care can be authorized. The client spends down the excess by incurring medical bills equal to the spenddown amount. The client is responsible for these medical bills.
