ProviderOne
Security
Billing providers need to setup
secure access to ProviderOne for many self-service options including:
·
Completing registration activities to
ensure continuity in payments.
·
Maintaining your provider file before and after ProviderOne is
live.
·
Checking client eligibility in the new system.
·
Accessing your Remittance Advice after ProviderOne is implemented.
·
Reviewing and adding DSHS taxonomies associated with your
organization.
Who should complete this activity?
Providers should designate one
person in the organization who will pick up initial security credentials and
manage adding additional staff and their level of access to ProviderOne.
That person will be your "ProviderOne Security Administrator."
System usernames and passwords
from the current Medicaid payment system will no longer be valid once
ProviderOne goes live.
This is an important prerequisite to the
ProviderOne registration activity.

Five Common
Problems Providers Face in the Security Process
Please read this tip sheet for some answers to some common problems.
A
few key pieces of information providers should know about security:
-
Security credentials are provided to a single ProviderOne Security Administrator for
your organization. (DSHS issues a single logon and password per NPI).
If you did not report your NPI to DSHS, your Medicaid ID's were consolidated
by tax ID. If your organization has multiple tax IDs, your security
administrator will obtain security credentials for each tax ID.
-
Your Security Administrator will set up additional users for your
organization that can complete the registration activity.
ProviderOne Security Administrator: Follow the steps below as a guide for obtaining security
credentials and setting up users in ProviderOne.
Security Spreadsheet Option:
DSHS has added an option for large organizations to complete security set up using an Excel
spreadsheet. Use these links for this option:

Step 2
Security
Administrator obtains initial log on and password
You will need to pick up the
credentials for each "pay to" NPI or Tax ID for your organization.
(Please note that if you did not report NPI to DSHS your Medicaid ID's were
consolidated by tax ID and each tax ID is a domain.
If your organization reported
a few NPI numbers to DSHS that did not cover one to one with all your
current Medicaid provider numbers, you should know that all of your Medicaid
provider numbers were linked to one of your reported NPIs during conversion
to retain your history.

You will assign your staff one or more of these
profiles for the appropriate access to ProviderOne for their job. Please
note that DSHS added 3 new profiles 4/27/09.
